Wine Keys

I’m a sucker for a really fancy wine opener just as much as I’m a sucker for a beautifully delicate wine glass. Really though, all you need is a solid wine key, and these are definitely solid. I have two of these and they’ve held up just as beautifully as my very fancy opener for years now.

And if you are interested in splurging on a fancy wine opener anyway, Laguiole is the gold standard.

Side note: if you, like me, keep a wine key in your purse, remember that TSA will confiscate it when you fly. That teeny little foil-cutting blade doesn’t pass security screenings, so if you want to keep your favorite wine keys, don’t forget to check them or leave them when traveling.
