Wine Folly Magnum Edition

This one is also for the visual learners. More specifically, it’s for the visual learners who prefer bold, simple graphics over crazy detail. If you’ve ever Googled anything wine-related, you’ve likely already come across Madeline Puckette’s Wine Folly website, an incredible resource that’s both thorough and highly user-friendly. Think of this book as an extension of that website, simply chock-full of illustrations.

How might you use during a Wineluck Club tasting? I’d suggest two options:

  1. Flip through the Grapes & Wines section to look for the wines you’re tasting tonight, particularly if you or your guests are having difficulty coming up with words to describe them. We don’t naturally correlate scents and flavors with words, so prompts can be a huge help.

  2. Flip to the Wine Regions section to take a look at country and region-level wine maps that help your guests visualize where tonight’s wines are made. Now, if only we could use Google Maps to see wine regions like this…
