Silicone Still Wine Stoppers
There are many types of wine stoppers available, from Vacu Vin to kitschy decorated ones to simple silicone ones, and I find that most work just fine, assuming you’re not expecting the wines to last terribly long anyway.
One of my biggest priorities is to be able to lay partially-drunk wine bottles on their side in the fridge with minimal additional length added to their already-long bottle necks. It’s crazy helpful space-wise for post-tasting refrigeration, whether you have a wine fridge or a regular fridge. In my house, these stoppers have a tendency to disappear like matching socks in the laundry, so I tend to stock up, especially before hosting a tasting.
Worth noting: if there’s less than half a bottle of wine left, consider pouring the wine into a smaller container, even if it’s just a random empty jar. Reducing the remaining wine’s oxygen exposure will help it stay fresher a bit longer.
